Monster Hunter
Old World/Classic SFX Pack
v1.0

This is an extensive sound effects mod that replaces the great majority of sounds to their existing classic Monster Hunter equivalents, ripped directly from the originals' files/soundtracks for the highest possible quality. Menus, items, weapons, cooking & Poogie themes, hit sounds, and many other misc sounds.

NOTE: The video shows only the most notable changes, there are 100s of other standard and minor sound files replaced throughout this mod.

Installation
1] Extract the .zip file using an extractor such as 7-Zip or Winrar

2] Locate your Monster Hunter World Steam installation folder
Steam Library -> MONSTER HUNTER: WORLD -> Right-Click in games list -> Properties -> Local Files tab -> Browse local files...

3] Place the "nativePC" folder inside the Monster Hunter World Steam folder
If unsure, see images for confirmation and match the directory.

4] Enjoy :)

Optional Files
1] Open the "Optional Files" folder and select which files you'd like.
"jingle_cmn" is the cooking & Poogie themes, "sys_ui_cmn" is the MH1~FU gathering sound.

2] Copy the desired file, navigate to "nativePC -> sound -> wwise -> Windows", and paste it.

3] Rename the pre-existing file by removing the [bracketedSection] and move it into the "Optional Files" folder.

4] Rename your chosen optional file in the "nativePC" directory as "jingle_cmn" or "sys_ui_cmn".
It must be named exactly, the game will only read files with exact names it recognizes.

Troubleshooting
THE SOUNDS AREN'T LOADING
Ensure that they are located in this exactly named directory (check images):
Steam\steamapps\common\Monster Hunter World\nativePC\sound\wwise\Windows

THE OPTIONAL FILES AREN'T LOADING
Ensure that they are exactly named "jingle_cmn" or "sys_ui_cmn".

FAQ/Future Plans
"WHY ARE SOME SOUNDS LOUDER THAN MOST OTHERS?"
This is a bug relating to what sounds play when with the same sounds overlapping one another. With the brunt of the sound replacement work out of the way, I hope to fully learn how sounds are called to stop overlapping/sudden volume changes.

"WHY DO SOME SOUNDS PLAY/DON'T PLAY WHEN THEY SHOULD/SHOULDN'T?"
As mentioned, I need to begin looking at how and when sounds are called and remove/replace/add ones for each oddity. I want it to be as accurate as possible, while adapting sounds in relation to others where necessary.

"WHY HASN'T _________ BEEN REPLACED/ADDED?"
It may be possible that I simply forgot to add it, but most missing sounds are because of either:
-No unique sound that has a placement in MHW to replace (hopefully fixable by changing existing/adding new ones, we'll see).
-Weapon types originally used sounds unique per weapon &/ low quality.
-Attempted replacement breaks the sound bank (file saving issues).
I hope to add what's mmissing I can in the future.
